Friends, I have been away off and on for awhile but for all the right reasons. God has pressed on our hearts (my husband & I) to have consecration shut-ins in our present home for prayer & fasting and worship & praise for 20 days ongoing as He leads. Our shut-in times usually consist of daily prayer at 5 am,12 noon, and 7pm, nothing to eat and only water to drink, no tv, no music unless it’s the worship that God has given to us. This includes for our children as well, except they do get to eat. Instructions has changed from time-to- time as the Lord has led us. He has led us to this for an increase in our spiritual gifts and to prepare us to come into the fullness of who He has called us to be. God also called us to this as an equipping for this era.
Consecration shut-in is a coming aside in dedication to a sacred purpose in determination and solitude. It can be done alone or gathering together with other believers to seek God through prayer and fasting in the house of God, disconnecting from the world around us and focusing totally on God for the purpose of gaining a greater spiritual awareness, to increase our spiritual sight, hearing and gifts, to separate us from a worldly mindset (carnal mind set) to a spiritual mindset, to change our desires to gain God desires for us, to starve our flesh for the death of it that we may live in full fellowship with God.
A good example of this is found in 2 Chronicles 20:3-5
3Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly], to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah. 4And Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord [yearning for Him with all their desire]. 5And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of the Lord before the new court
We have received tremendous results from our consecration shut-ins. Our spiritual awareness, knowledge, wisdom & understanding, our gifts & talents, our vision & dreams has ALL increased a great deal! God has also shown us in a greater measure who he has called us to be and our purpose here on earth.
